Website down for 6 1/2 days. Rankings have suffered!
Can anyone give me some insight on when my traffic might return. I just began coming out of the sandbox 3 months ago, then 2 weeks ago I went on vacation to Hawaii and my site went down for 6 1/2 days. During those 6 days, all visitors were forwarded to index.html which only said "Site Unavailable".
Any clues as to when my traffic may return? Here is a pic of my Awstats.

Nope, I have no clue, just a suggestion: change your web host! If something like this happens again, you might go back in the sandbox! In the meanwhile you could try some traffic generation techniques like Google AdWords or other PPC campaings.

Hey, just wait a little bit... Christmas and New Year! Last 2 weeks 40% drop in internet activity, all professional websites lost from 30-70 % because offices closed, entertainment websites lost 10-25% visitors.
Even Google lost about 5-8% visitors.
It happened every yead during Christmas holidays, you should expect regular traffic after January 5.
P.S. check alexa stats.

Nope, it happened way before Xmas and New Year! Check the stats again. It is really related to the technical problems suffered by the site for more than 6 days but the idea is how to get the traffic back... Besides, his post was on 12-25-2006 , so the "0" for the 25, 26, 27 and so on is explained by... not being recorded at the moment of the screenshot! I doubt that he had no traffic at all these days!

Looks like things are improving slowly, but aren't nearly what they were. This image was taken at 6:00 p.m. so the 130 is only 3/4 of the total visits for 12/27.

Again... check all websites, Alexa will show that during holidays traffic down on Google, v7n, Myspace, SeoChat, SlashDot..........
Wait after January 5 when people come back from vacations and will sit back in their office chairs. Also, big factor is students... it is their vacation, they are partying and not sitting online.

I never cared much about my Alexa ranking.
Looks like things are starting to improve again.

If the googlebot visited your site while was unavailable, it would defenitely affect your rank. change your host, 6 and half days it's a joke.
