Page Rank but no cache?

I have come across many sites where inner pages have a page rank range from 3 - 6 but when I check googles cache it shows that specific page has never been cached.

How is that working? Is it just flowing off the PR of the entire site? or do the links on that page actually matter to google?

Would it be worth puting a link there in hopes that if google does spider it the PR associated with it will help?

There are some unstabilities related to pagerank currently. I think you should wait some time..

I've seen this before. I believe in many cases other than the first page a user visits in a session, the toolbar is making an estimate on the actual PageRank. This would lead to cases of PageRank showing for pages that aren't in the index.

Or, at least, it used to work this way.
