Googles value of their Own SERP results?

How much value does google put in their own search results?
For example if I type in a keyword and take those top 10 results and im able to get them to all place a link to my site then how much power will that hold compared to getting inbounds from other sites in lower positions in googles SERPs?

Taking into effect I have relevant content almost to if not equal to theirs?

You can try this, but it is unlikely that these sites will "swap links", unless the search terms aren't competitive.

I know its unlikely that they would swap links. I guess my real question is what type of value does Google place on them? Obviously if Google puts them at the top of the results then any link power that they pass by linking to me must be alot better then sites ranking lower right?

Ive only been in the SEO game for only afew months so still trying to figure out some of the little specifics.
