google backlinks?
I found a website that was able to search for my current backlinks. What I found out was I have some with yahoo and msn but none with Google. How can I get backlinks with google?
Also, where do I go to submit an article, and how does this help with backlinks?

Google doesn't show all the back links it know about a site,
use yahoo site explorer to check your back links.
Submit your arcticles on forums/blogs related to your site and put a link of your site in the article.

Google never show backlinks because other webmasters can steal your backlinks and place their website in the same places.

When i check backlinks in google I usually only get a small sample displayed of the actual backlinks. And sometimes whats displayed often changes.

Submit your site's information in directories.
Put a link to your site in your forum signature.
Do link exchanges to other sites.

Have interesting content on your site. If your heart is in what you are doing, it will show. And by following what Parusa said, you will get natural back links.
I love Stat Counter to keep up with traffic. It even lets you see where each hit is coming from.

Try Yahoo's Site Explorer instead, as Google doesn't show most of your backlinks anyway.

Getting backlinks from google is not easy. You need to work hard for it. Just get quality backlinks. I also notice that most of google backlinks are from forums.

To get more backlinks:
- forum sigs
- put your website in your biography or resource box in your article when submitting
- blog comments
Just put in quality content. As for the article directories, there are a lot of them but they have certain categories wherein yur artice may or may not fit.

Use this nice tool www.domain-pop.com to check your backlinks.
Also, check your MSN and Yahoo backlinks, they give you 95% backlinks which also indexed by Google

Use google's webmaster tools. there is a new tab that shows all the links to every page incoming and outgoing. You can then click on the number and see the exact pages and where the links are. Pretty cool!

I submit my articles to Ezinearticles. The idea is that other webmasters will use your articles to fill up their websites with content and provide you with backlinks that way. However, I'm finding that my articles just end up on spam sites so I think I'm just going to submit them directly to interested websites. Yeah it may take more time but at least I can be certain they will actually end up on "trusted" sites
