Strange Traffic

Just looked in AWStats and it says I have got 23 unique visits from the url

http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/ads

What does this mean?

I haven't set up any adwords of any kind.

I have weird things lke that too.
I have 146 uniques from http://cs.hotbar.com/SmartOffers/SmartOffers.aspx

Thing is though, that url looks like it comes from adwords

Yeah, though ive had 15 from yahoo.com aswell last month. Now i obviously dont have a link on yahoo.com lol

Any ideas what it is? Or do you reckon it is just an AWStats error.

Its coming from adwords.. You don't have AWstats set up to show the full URL so you can't see it. Here is a sample from my logs.. If you click it you see what the user saw when he clicked it.

So how is it coming from Adwords if it isn't set up?

That is indeed what AdWords referrals look like when they come from Google's sydicators. AOL, however, also syndicates the free SERP (I believe). Perhaps it's something like that.
