Google Webmaster Central has had the links tab since around February 7th. In that time frame, the link data has only changed once for the sites I watch.
So, while it may be updated more often than the traditional link: command, don't expect it to be near real time link Yahoo's equivalent.
Being able to download the entire list is nifty, however.
Hi, yep, IŽd stil rather use the linkdomain:www... in Yahoo to get the best picture of backlinks. you can assume that Google has roughly the same BLs to your site.
Yeah yahoo is better but the fact that Google keeps making webmaster tools more useful is pretty cool. I wish they would show pr with the links like domain pop.
I may be wrong but I tried to sign up for google webmaster but it looks like I need to put one of there links in my website. Anyone have any information about this? Thanks!
When I logged into googles webmaster tools and check my links I didnt see one single link from a directory. So I went and check with yahoo site explorer and I have over 2000 more links, many of these from directories.
I think it depends on the quality of the directory. G still uses directories to spider the Web, but I've been doing a directory submission lately and a lot of directories don't even have most of the pages indexed! But it's still worth being listed in the big ones.
