I dropped in positions on Google, the reason is unknow, I was ranking for differents keywords phrases with less value in my opinion. I am trying to recover and this is in process.

Once I dropped back. I guess that the reason was the increase of the outbound links. Not 100+ but close to 90 pcs. When I thin them the site gained the previous rankings.

Once I change the meta description on one of my sites and forgot to include the keywords and it dropped down two positions. It went back though when I included the keywords.

Google danced this past weekend. If your site dropped then chances are you need to go buy some more links!

Just a few days ago, one of the sites I maintained was ranked poorly on search results. But only yesterday, it's restored and ranked even better. Now it's gone a notch lower.

Dropping in rankings is a normal occurrence but in the long run, these should be pretty stabilized.

My site position drops everytime when I stoped working on them.

To recover I used to do:
(1) Regular placement of fresh content.
(2) Regular link building
(3) Drawing regular traffic (from articles, forums, social groups etc)
(4) Keep growing size of site by adding 1-2 page in 5-6 days.

The main thing to retain position is Backlinks to home page as well inner pages PLUS fresh content.

We dropped completely our whole site, we were ranking for over 300 keywords. The reason was that we screwed it up implementing a 301 redirect. The positions came back in 15 days.

Another site, a secondary one, dropped on the Jagger update, apparently because we didn't refresh the content for years, and the positions never came back.

i have been droped from google ranks, but then it happens to every website,
i just keep building links, and changed my title a bit, and then i was back on top again. the search term, has to be emphasised, that's the only way. do link exchange, buy links, and make your keyword as your anchor text, that's the way to go on top.

variation on search position always happen, but then one day, you will get back to top, where you were.

When there is a drop in SERP, I try to get more links using the keyword as anchor text.
