Google's Personalized Search: Is it THE END of SEO?!

Hi guys

Quite lately I have been reading about "Google's Personalized Search" approach. Many seo forums and discussion boards are quite skeptical and sometimes "Negetive" about it. The issues range from serving Region Specific Results to the audience to serving Older Versions of the web page.

What are your thoughts about it? the industry giants have mixed responses towards this impending or event.

Give your Feed and Expert suggestions, lets try out our SEO analysis!

Thank you

If I were to guess, I'd say that personalized search accounts for 1% of the total searches. A lot of people still have trouble finding the power button on their computers. I don't believe they are up to the Google signup, customized search, etc.

Ok agreed about the nature of ppl responding to it, but eventually it may engulf the search behaviour one day... that day may be far away... but SEOs plan ahead..thats what i think..you see how every body is concerned about NEXT ALGORITHM UPDATE!! when, what, why ? ... it never ends..

Any ways your idea is full of weight ... every tom, dick n harry wont go for registering n logging in ...

Thanks

I don't like personalised search, as if I use Search Engines is because I'm interested in something I don't know interesting sites about... otherwise I go straight to those sites. So if Google is starting to filter the results based on previous searches for me is excluding some possibly interesting results.

Don't know, but if you provide quality content it shouldn't affect you at all. I found out that people who I don't know "make" SEO for my site just because they link to various internal pages from forums, from their own sites, etc, etc. Based on latest G Sitemaps data I have 4430 external links pointing to my primary site. 1987 are pointing to the homepage; they're links managed by myself mostly. The rest is located on my blogs and on forums which I don't control anyhow. I count on that about 1500 links are somewhere where I haven't been ever.

Those general suggestions made by Google really work...

I dont think Personalized search will affect SEO. SEO is not just about the personalized search. Also local search & personalized search are just taking off and it will require a long time for them to take off.

Yes i agree that providing Quality content is the key to success + link building strategy to get Quality links.

I personally agree that it wont have significant effect over SEO but it may have significant effect on Pay-Per-Click (PPC) marketing.

Yes or No?

Thank you
