Look... google gave StatCounter pr10 when they don't really have enought links to get this pagerank. Pagerank 8 or 9 i understand... They don't really want to give pr10 to AwStat and i think that AwStat is better.
MIT got pr10 only because they are leading techonogy college. Why google never gave pr 10 to Harvard or Tufts?

Digg, Google crawl digg more often than any other site and index news from Digg almost right away. The same about technorati.
DMOZ... Google directory based on DMOZ and they don't really want to change this. They even tolerate corryption in DMOZ.
Everyone know that Google don't really like Microsoft and all websites related to Bill. Yahoo... there is still rumors that Google doesn't really count links from Yahoo directory.
SNAP and Overture belong to Bill Gross. Google refused to work with Overture back in a days.
MySpace for Google is a pain in... because they don't really want to index 1 000 000+ pages of waste like "I am cool girl from LA"
