Adwords: Content Network, yes or no?

I'm tracking the click throughs from our Adwords campaigns and the Content Network clicks (AdSense) seem to be the least productive clicks. Clicks originating from Google search are getting two pageviews for the most part, but clicks from the Adsense network are getting just one pageview.

This pretty much standard?

For most groups, search gets higher conversion rates & pages/visit. However, there's occasionally some sweet opportunities on the content network because people are hesitant to bid aggressively there.

I use the content network in most of my ad-groups, but it definitely requires extra attention. You might already be doing all these things, but here's my tips:

-Use more specific kws for content network bids, extremely specific if necessary. Use [] and "".
-Geo Limits
-Lots of negative kws, not just from the KW tool. It's good, but not perfect by any means.
-Conversion tracking or ecomm+analytics to ensure positive ROI
