Question Increasing Page Rank, How?
So I have followed the Google alrogithm to Page Rank and my site has been up for a long time....still no page rank. I realize that it takes a long time to get a rank but here is the question. Can I help improve my own page rank by placing links to other websites on my own? Do the links on my site to external websites help to improve pagerank?

No. PageRank is about inbound links.

However, webmasters may notice your inbound links to them, become aware of your site, and link back if they think it's of value. This technique can work well with blogs - the owners of which tend to link out regularly.

I have to agree, I posted about this in another thread, (http://www.v7n.com/forums/google-for...w-has-pr2.html) and it seems IBL really important, as long as the sites that link to you re worthy (ie no viagra, not spammer sites), basically they need to be good strong pages (better if they are 'like' they page they are linking to).

A big thing that took me awhile (still rying to get this) to understand was even if your domain has a bad PR, an individual page can have a good one.

You need to get stong links in.
