google adsense keyword ppc

Ok so I got this list of the best paying financial keywords on adsense

online car insurance $44.12
car insurance quotes $44.09
auto insurance quote $37.19
online insurance quotes $36.13
student loan consolidation $35.18
student loan consolidation $35.18
home equity loans $35.03
life insurance quotes $33.78
free credit report com $33.20
car insurance rates $33.03
car insurance quote $31.39
secured loan $29.83
online auto insurance $29.73

Just wondering if this is for real. I mean if I put up a website focusing on car insurance and use google adsense on it google is not going to pay me 44$ for a click on a online car insurance add are they? I mean they arent really going to even pay me a$? is there anyone who can tell me from experience what kind of pay per clicks they get in any niche. Doesnt matter if its medical, financial, law......just interested to know the lay of the land so to speak.

Looking forward to replies

Unfortunately no.

Those prices are bids on the Adwords network. Advertisers bid separately for the content network (Adsense), and they usually bid much lower.

For example, I advertise in some of those areas mentioned above, but when it comes to the content network, I either switch it off entirely, target particular sites, or bid very low (a few cents). I imagine other advertisers in that space do the same. The reason is the content network doesn't convert near as well as on Google, and is open to abuse, so the value of the clicks is diminished.

Also, you only get a percentage of the content click price.

Peter_d, Thanks for the info. Where would I get a list of the most profitable keyword phrases for my adsense campaign?

If I was going to start marketting a new site, I'd like it to at least have a higher chance of returning more per hour spent..

Is there a list somewhere? or would I have to go make an adwords account and do trial and error?

Thanks.
A

I'd say for some large sites adsense for search usually brings in more easy $$ than the banners/adverts. I've seen some searches delivering 2.50+ who knows what keyword tho... while i never get any big number single clicks from the ads.

There are various lists and tools for sale. Keyword Country, for example.

Keep in mind these figures are ballpark, and will not indicate the actual amount you'll be paid, for the reasons I've described above.

Peter_D,
I went to Keyword Country and tried them out for a day. One thing they didn't tell you was that in order to get the best generic searches you have to subscribe for a month. Regardless, I did find it helpful and am trying some experiments with the results.

From what I understand these are the factors needed to be taken into considersation:

(1) CPC (and average CPC)
(2) clicks per month
(3) competition
(4) Overall traffic

The criteria I am selecting is average CPC over $8 with clicks per month over 120, AND competition under 800.

Thanks for the info.

About insurance issues

I have adsense on my page where is the main subject insurance. From my practice the word insurance and the similar to insurance are the best paying words and i earn 0.40-0.60 at start. When I do the advertising on other page my traffic is now getting high and higher and the insurance ads are 1.50$ per click. I suggest to do the advertising throw other companies and place google adsense on your web page. Hope I help u.
