Cached Pages

Google has a feature called "Cached Pages" in the search results. Does this mean that Google is downloading the entire internet onto their servers and then indexing them.
Is it possible to download the entire internet?

Lightbulb Core indexing Vs Page saving and crawling

It is hard to beleive that google downloads the whole web space into its local database and i beg to go against the CEO. May google in "The Google Story" disclose the fact that the whole web space is at Google's Disposal but it still is not the official Google release.

What i believe is that some sort of "MILD" AI along with symantec is used to index the web pages .. the crwaler is loop sort of insect ..from 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255 .. n thats what i believe..

Again for every query a prior refrence is searched for and complex popularity uniqueness level is calculated and finally the page rank... displays the web page .. the whole process is quite complex as it actually seems!!

Google does index pretty much all of the web. It's kind of common knowledge.

Is it expensive? Yes, in fact Google has stated that they think the infrastructure costs (servers) required to do so is a very effective deterrent to any potential competition.

Yep. Unless blocked, Google indexes every part of the web it can find. It even visits often. Just read your stats and see how often Google visits.

i think this is quite true. they may not be downloading the entire internet but part of it! i think it's just not possible to download the internet. moreover, google, by saying that they are downloading the internet are deceiving it's competitors.
