The figure itself is continuously updated, but the toolbar PR as it's called is a rough 3 month average. In no way is it where you can set your calendar, so I'm struggling to see the importance of this info.

Some parts are always updating, some every three months, sometimes the whole formula for calculating it changes.

It is well known to us that google backlinks and page rank should be updated every 3 months. I am just curious why every 3 months, not montly.?
