Why would google not update my index page for over a week now? old cache is showing up also?

Any ideas -

Sometimes they don't update for over a month. If the page content changes often, the cache is more likely to be updated on a more regular basis.

A week is not a long time to go without being re-cached. Google seems to have been a little busy lately with it's PR and backlink update. I'm sure I have seen site and pages take more than a week to get re-cached.
