How often does google update PR?

I traded hard links with 15 other sites that have PR4-6 and would like to know when I could expect my pr2 to go up?

It can be one month, or two months, or more. Google hasn't been very regular with PR updates these days.

It would help us estimate this if you told us when you did it. Yesterday or Christmas?

They were all done within the last 3-4 days. I did notice that google must have updated within the last few days since my link trades but my PR hasn't went up.

I'll bet it hasn't gone up either.

I just can't believe that people think changes like this should be made in 2 or 3 days. If you get upgraded in a month you'll be lucky. The last one took about 3 months.

Google is looking after and following the changes in more than 5,500,000,000 web site or pages. Do you think it is reasonable that they are going to reflect changes on your site in less than a week?

Calm down killer. I didn't say I expected anything or think it should be done immediately. I simply asked when they do PR updates since I have no clue about it.

All you had to do was read a couple of threads in the Google section and you would have quickly gotten a clue.

If it was a general interest question why didn't you pose it that way? You could have said, "I put up some new links 3 or 4 days ago. I don't expect that Google will have them listed yet , but normally how long does it take."

But the way you posed the question sounded like you had been waiting forever, got missed in the recent up grade, and where wondering what the hell had happened.

Even if you don't want to spend the time doing the research there is still a way to ask an intelligent question.

Thumbs up A little bit of theory

Its very awkward for a junior member to peep in ... but i like to share some theories behind them.

Its a small logical analysis of a very small snipplet of the algoithm ....

PR, Traffic, Popularity & Time all are related .....

You must have a notification that google updates and indexes everyday. The ones with the highest PR and highest Popularity is going to get more focus.

So Focus is directly proportional with PR and Popularity.

And for my friend who started this thread ..... this is a small note. Google have rated the site PR 6 means it gets 6 / 10. So the focus is likewise. Google thinks its pulling that much traffic. There it finds a link of your site. Its better if it goes with that PR 6 site's keywords. Google will simply crawl into your site giving you traffic.

Now coming back to your PR update. Google does it within 6 months (To my senior members .... Mark I said WITHIN 6) ... This is when it slows down indexing .... and continues to update it PR datacenters.

I hope it was quiet readable with the theory part.

And neway its not the spiders you need to get into your site you need human beings and Google is nothing if there werent ne1 to search. So be logical and intelligent with your tag lines which means a lot to time scampering human traffic.

Thanks to everyone of you,
Have a nice day

Web guy, your bold thread is hard to read. Make it easy on peoples eyes and just make the important stuff bold. I understand everything you type is important, but really - all of it ?

Bob your my hero. It's good to see a can of whoop ass opened up every once in awhile.

And I have to agree with Webguy - The PR updates seem to happen every 4 to 6 months.
Bob FYI in case you missed it, there was a PR update last month. But it only showed on new pages or new websites. Sites that already had PR didn't see any change so a lot peeps missed it.

Some people even lost PR just like my websites below...

Google PR updates - Do you see a pattern here ?

7/14/2006

4/12/2006

2/20/2006

10/13/2005

7/15/2005

1/1/2005

It does seem about every 4 months. At the bottom of this page you can find a more complete list than above.
