Google Sitemap issue

Can I submit more than 1 sitemap to Google? Google has a limit of 50,000 url’s for a sitemap. Since my site has more than that I was thinking of creating 4 site maps i.e.

www. Mydomain .com/google_sitemap1.asp
www. Mydomain .com/google_sitemap2.asp
www. Mydomain .com/google_sitemap3.asp
www. Mydomain .com/google_sitemap4.asp

When I submit them to G will 2 overwrite 1 then 3 overwrite 2? Can I submit multiple sitemaps like this?

Multiple sitemaps

I've generated separate sitemap files in the xml format. I've done this for 2 sites. This has worked well. I have 7 sitemaps for each site. I have had over 100,000 pages indexed per site.

I would think that you would be fine doing that. You should be able to ask your question to Google.
