Some people believe that linking alone is all you need.
John Scott (of Internet Marketing Research) & Phil Craven (of Web Workshop) are some of the major proponents behind this line of thinking.
Um, yeah, for search engine rankings, all you need is inbound links with the right anchor text. Old news.

The problem with this idea is that buying links does not ad value. If one were exclusively focused on buying links then their site would not be operating as efficiently as it could be.
Buying links serves one purpose - search engine rankings. Nobody ever said not to create powerful marketing copy that converts. That's a no-brainer.

Some people use different terminology for different things. Some people register sites. Some people buy or rent links. When you buy a Yahoo! listing at $299 / year, are you doing any more than renting links? Because Yahoo! is collecting that money is it any more honest than getting a link from Freds Farm Equipent? Why?
You should not be able to buy PR then links from Yahoo should not count towards PR?

Good Content Attracts Links
Not true.
I wish it was true. Content sites just cant make money and people dont link to them as much as I would like. I run a content movie site with friends as a hobby we enjoy but deep down I bet we all wish we could leave our jobs and do this for a living
The only problem with these relationships is that they're unstable and can end in divorce. Sometimes your partner is just no good and can't be counted on. Like any relationship.
You have to have links from people you can trust. And who do you trust the most?
Phil Craven is a class A ASS, he censors his forums big time, Search Guild is also guilty of Censorship Big time, facts they do not accept. Anyone who censors contributors is Bush League........By the way Prince William over at Phil Shit forum Webworkshops really does not like our wonderful host here. And I don't like that fricking weasel Phil, site admin over there. As far as Search Guild is concerned Chris is alright, but he has some moderators who are real A R S E' s
