Site: command in Google is changed?

The "site: www . whatever . com" used to return the results of how many URL's you had indexed, does anyone know if this has been updated with a new command?

It works fine for me. I tried:
site:www.whatever.com
site:whatever.com
site: www.whatever.com
site: whatever.com

All works fine but got different results.

site: johninjapan . com doesn't show the site URL index, but rather the "mention" of the domain. Before, it used to show all of the URL's that Google had indexed, the domain URL's, not external.

I get this from site: on google.co.uk
Results 1 - 10 of about 11,400 from johninjapan.com. (0.36 seconds)

It shows your site URL only not external pages. I checked 4 pages (100 links a page) and it says totally 11400 links

Grr what the heck, it shows the first two links as my site, then the rest as external for me. (google america). I appreciate you two checking for me, thanks much.

I used the command it is showing URL’s of my site as well as sub domain I have not found nay change

I looked at the results and the details of these two searches and they seem to be searching visible text (not links). So, I'm not sure what it's a count of...

Has anybody tried comparing the results of these commands with the info that google is providing to webmasters under the sitemap info?
