Is this a problem in Google or update in Google

Hello Everyone,

I am not clear on how to explain it.

Here is the issue:

For Example, If you type Yahoo in google.com and search we usually find a number at the right side corner thats the number of pages in google related that keyword

SERP --- 542,000,000

If it suddenly went down from 542,000,000 to 42,000,000

then what will be the problem in google is that a update in algorithm ???????????

The above is the problem which is happening in my client website, Could anyone give a solution

Hey, one more issue.

When I typed "yahoo", it shows 754,000,000
and for "Yahoo", it shows 755,000,000

I am new to SEO. So, I don't have much knowledge about it.
but from the above example,
I can conclude that it is case sensitive.

Is it right? or ..???

There may be a little variation at the bottom of results for case sensitive variations but I doubt it would ever impact the SEO to the extent that we need to spend time considering it as part of the SEO process.

Search terms with large numbers of results returned can often vary a great deal in the number of results they display as having "returned". In reality, it doesn't matter if it's 30 million or 100 million results - if you are optimising for the term, then you are basically aiming for the top 100 and working up the way.

I think it depends on SEs algorithm in their SERPs... Google has different algo than Yahoo... Their algo differ from each other..
