What do y'all use to check the amount of backlinks Google has associated with your webpage? I've used numerous tools but I get very different results from each.

I just recently found very nice tool for checking the backlinks http://www.smartpagerank.com it also has another very useful features. Try it.

Umm..

Google sitemaps (under google webmaster tools) will show you exactly how many backlinks you have. Just login and verify your site and click links...

Its been available for a long time, like over a year maybe?

Exactly, right from the source. Doing a link: yourdomain.com or link: www.yourdomain.com search gives different results and I think that the webmaster tools gives the most accurate results. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If you have Google account... Use Google webmaster tools..

www.google.com/webmastertools..

You can check your inlinks and outgoing links...

You can also link: operator in every SEs....To see all your links

There are a lot of tools that you can use. The problem is, some tools are not accurate.

I think Google Search is the best backlink checker. I don't need another one. When someone invent a backlink predictor, maybe i would try it.

Based on that google gonna rate your website...more backlinks..you will get a better pagerank

Are you sure that you can check outgoing links in webmaster central ?
