Google Too Exposed To Wikipedia?

Quote:
If the wikipedia partners with Firefox or otherwise is able to successfully push their search engine, will Google have to rethink its dependence on the wikipedia? Is this a similar paradigm to IBM and MsDOS?
http://seoblackhat.com/2007/08/12/go...-to-wikipedia/

Wikipedia are the current golden boy with Google, because Wikipedia offers non-advertorial content, and no direct commercial threat to Adwords.

So it's an interesting question - what happens when Wikipedia develops their search engine?

Hmm .. quote from the article:

Quote:
“The question is: Will there be a demand?” he said. “I think there will be. People are not happy with the lack of transparency.”
What guarantee is there that using unpaid volunteers will generate an adequate level of transparency? Wikipedia has some good content, but there are still areas subject to dispute, especially pages concerning controversial topics.

It is really a tough question! Well for me,, it's not that easy to compete with an established one,, although it has a possibility.. I believe wiki will go in very long process before they can beat google...

Not sure it's a real possibility, but you never know. If they pull it off, maybe Wikipedia results won't rule the Google SERPS anymore.

I think wikipedia informations are not 100% percent too accurate... Because it is edited by editors of wiki.... If they create SE wiki I think Google will still get informations from them... Google has trust on Wikipedia...
