Serious Google External Linking Problem *Please Help*

Hi,

I have just realised some major problems with the way Google has indexed my pages after the last update.

Previously (prior to today) upon typing in my domain and clicking 'Find web pages that contain the term (mydomain.com)' I could tell who was linking to me. Before I had approx 40 sites + my internal pages linking to me, however after the update I have 0 sites linking to me, although it has indexed my new internal pages.

As you can imagine this has really started to affect the visits that I am getting and I am anxious to sort this out as quickly as possible. So please help, if you know why this has happened. I have had the present site before and never had a problem.

BTW. I have just recently added my first robots.txt file (I never saw the need before.
It contains the text:
User-agent: *

Is there any chance this could be what's causing the problem?

Also the majority of sites that were linking to me were reputable sites (not BB etc)

Thanks for any help you can provide..

Any ideas?
Just to clarify, according to Google, no-one is linking to my site, although yesterday it was fine. Why is this? Will it sort itself out in the next few days? Is it something I have done or is it something to do with the new look google?

No it doesn't just:

User-agent: *

cos I wanted to allow all bots until I worked out which were the bad ones...

Not to worry, I just checked on Google again this morning and all my links are back
I don't understand why this happened i'm just glad its sorted...
and i'll just have to wait and see what other changes have happened.
It does seem that for a couple of my main search terms i have dropped a couple of pages at least...
Thanks anyway!!
