Running Google AdSense on a Shopping Website

Hello,

A client recently asked me to utilize AdSense on their shopping website which has high PR7 and a good amount of visitors. Given that websites such as Amazon utilize Ads, would you recommend it on a different website.

Here is my view on adsense on shopping sites.

1. Don't use it just to direct customers to your competitors sites unless you really don't need the sale and just want the click through. (This is terrible for shopping sites, because you want to keep your customers there for as long as you can)

2. Unless your customer is equal to a site like amazon they aren't going to keep as many clicking and buying unless the customer REALLY is going to buy from the store regardless on what they click on.

3. If he/she is a pr7 site sell text links and get more for your bang. With adsense you can get banned (like me), fraud clicks, low payouts. With text links that money is coming in regardless.

I would go for text links vs adsense in a heartbeat. Adsense is made for sites that really aren't selling things or very top sites like Amazon, eBay, and those kinds.

IMO I think there is no need to put on some ad sense to a shopping web site like that which has PR 7 as well as good traffic..

Ads on a shopping site? Bad idea,... you will earn less $ from the clicks than a sale.
