Using Autotagging In Google Analytics

Good tip for using Analytics.

Without autotagging (and Google Analytics manual tagging, for that matter), all search engine traffic coming to your site is counted as "organic." This includes paid search links.

on my site i made my own system that records the IPs and cookies and session info of every visitor, then when i pull the report on traffic, i filter our bot traffic of which there was lots.

rofl @ the guy freakn out becuse of the lack of bot traffic, but in his defense I would have thought google would automatically filter out bot traffic, i dont see why you would have to turn the filter on lol.

Do we know if this is the same for adsense, eg, if you have 1000 uniques, is that inclusive of bot traffic? Bots make up a buket load of traffic, there are around 10 bots per day crawling and scraping over my site, googlebot comes in 3 sperate visits, normally crawling static pages, then dynamic pages, then recrawing important pages or recently changed pages.

yahoo only comes once a week and so does MSN, i have blocked out a few bots who were knowen scrapers etc.

So that would mean that from 1000 uniques on the adsense that at least 300 of those are from bots?

Im asking as I dont know
