Google Testing 3-D Social World Program?

A company, rumoured to be Google, is running a prototype allowing students to get an early glimpse of what seems to be a 2D-or-3D-world-filled-with-avatars social network type of software.

What exactly this program is made up of is hard to tell; it may be related to the speculated Niniane Wang “metaverse” project. The login page is named “MyWorld,” and the registration form shows a globe with a mouse cursor, the headline reading “Redefine your world”.

A Facebook/Second Life cross-over? Might just work....

I saw that too a long time ago. This is probably a huge project and seeing as how long it took me to get an orkut account.. I'm sure they are in no hurry to release this too early. It sounds fun. I'll be right there to sign up when it's ready.
