Google analytics - tracking long-life transactions
Hi All,
I'm trying to track a transaction using Google Analytics that may span a long period of time.
We are spending a fortune on adwords, and need to get better data on where our conversions are coming from and more importantly where they aren't coming from.
Some people come in via adwords and buy straight away. We track them, life is good.
Some people come in via adwords and request a quote. Our system sends them a quote. Some of them disappear, some of them come back a day or week or a month later and end up buying the product.
We would like to be able to track their purchase to the original adwords click, so we can measure ROI on Adwords. We do have "get a quote" as a conversion goal, but the conversion rates turning quotes to buyers are fickle, so it's not good date to work from.
Can this be done? Is there any good information on this process, I couldn't seem to find anything relevant.
