1 PR8 Link Make a difference?
I want to buy one pr8 link. If the site you get the link from is unrelated to the one linking will it matter? I never had a pr8 link so I don't know if it will make a large impact or not. I am looking for some opinions in the google world. Any advice? Oh there are no pr8 links in the area my website is in. There are only pr6 or lower.

Not really. It can increase your Google traffic by 1-5% and that's it! You need to have at least 5-10 pr8 backlinks to increase your traffic twice.

I am no expert, but it seems a much more solid strategy would be to get links from related sites.

The best bet it to have links from complimentary sites, because Google's PR system weights the link back higher with similar content.

Getting a link from a lower ranked website in the same category is more helpful than from another category.

in my opinion, sniperhiga's opinion is true. if you have links with similar content,it will make a large impact. but now, your site have good index with pr8, maybe 1-24 hours.

the way I see it, still it will give positive effect on your site because PR8 is somewhat high for a site's PR and you have it linked to yours. even though its not related, still you got a quality backlink which is important. however, abusing such kind of link might hurt your site. I suggest you to know the limitations.

Well I am getting a lot of other links like pro-pr7. The pr8 link was more the icing on the cake. I am hoping this will help a new site vault to good serps. I am holding my breath to see...

Purchasing PR8 link will improve your PR, but won't give you huge difference in traffic

Think about it! All things being relevant if your site has no back links it will make a huge deference but if your site is Amazon.com then no it is just a drop in a ocean.

I think there is no big impact if you have a pr8 linked. Good keyword ranking can really drive you a traffic and you better watch on this not the PR.

I was reading an article few days ago. As mentioned there Google has started giving more importance on links from related sites when calculating PR.
But I ought to say it does help to certain extent. If its not that expensive I would say get it. I have experience using a PR5 sitewide link from an unrelated site last year and getting PR3 from 0 in 3 months.

I think it will make a large difference actually. Most of the time, you can still hit junk sites with a PR5 or less. I haven't seen that much sites that is PR6 or above without traffic. How many PR8 sites do you know personally? A handful if any.
As long as it's complimentary to what you're talking about with your site you're in good shape. However if it's not I believe you can still expect a substantial amount of traffic especially if it's complimentary, it will most likely be a very targeted traffic coming to your site.

Quality content is better than 100 pr8 links.
