Google is raising its PageRank worth?

Well as we know in PR updates of 2006 it became very easy to get PR5 and then time came when PR5 links were being sold for just $5 and only quality of that link was its PR number.

We also know that PR4 was considered very valuable back in 2005 and backward.

So, with recent drops in PR numbers of various sites I am of the opinion that you Google is negating that over-rating algo {or bug} in assigning PR numbers. But with a mix of a penalty to directory niche in special.

And I am not seeing it far away when again PR4 would get its lost honor and respect. :p

What you say?

It would help idiots like me if you told me how to increase PR. Then again, if everyone were to do it, PR would lose honor and respect.

By the way, how did you come to this opinion?

Thats the problem, it has lost its honour and respect in the SEO industry. Too many people have pushed the boundaries in manipulating page rank & the search results. You could say because in a way, its cheating.

I don't think Google will change how they view PageRank, it will still holds it value as it does today. After all this is their signature and why should they change? Instead they'll make us change, nuking sites is a start.

Tip - stay well under their radar if you are doing anything questionable. i.e. buying & selling links.

You argued and came to a conclusion in your first statement. They (those in the SEO industry) are cheating.

Next you go on to say

Hello! I am not in the least bit worried how Google views pr. I am very worried how many idiots think pr is great.

Can you provide questionable example for my questions?

I was trying to say....

Many in the SEO industry have gone off the idea of PR because of the idiots that chase it.

I do to but I worry more about Google giving people more excuses to bring quality down.

If I am not mistaken, idiots in the SEO industry are using PR to price themselves. They no longer use it??

What is your definition of people in the above sentence?

Are they search engine users, webmasters, SEOs' or others like celebrities.

Google takes and Google gives PR

You sell PR, Google takes your pr

Yes, from my perspective on the sites that I track which cover the NFL Draft, most site's page rank didn't go up except one that I know of, but most actually lowered or stayed the same. A very prominent site went from a 5 down to a 4. My site stayed at 4, but almost all of my inner pages picked up nice page rank in the 3-4 range. So yes, I would agree, it's not as easy to get page rank as it used to be. The one site that I know of that went from a page rank 4 to a 5 doesn't even have a lot of links, but they have good traffic and are #1 in the Google SERPS.
