I was woundering if anyone knows how I can better a adult sites PR? I am not going to list the site due to content problems. Does anyone know of any ways to up the PR? I got hired to market this site. Stats:
Uniques: 600,000/month
PR: 6
Go0gle Pages: 1000+
the site has great stats but the PR is hurting it. Does anyone know any dir or places where I can gain high PR sites. If you have a suggestion but the link has graphic content please feel free to PM me the link so a kid wont find it.
Also, please don't lock or delete this. I am very serious about this. Thanks in advanced.

Have you looked at what the competition is doing? I'll bet they have 1000s of backlinks. So there is no one or two directories with high PR that will suddenly vault an adult site into the top ten.
Have you read John's new article on keyword research? I know a guy who is in an adult field who does fairly well with keywords -- he uses Wordtracker for research -- that only get 50 to 100 searches per day. If you can rank well for a number of keywords like this you may be better off than trying to compete for "free porn".
Is this guy an affiliate or is he the prime source? Most of the main sites use affiliates extensively.
This job will definitely be 95% perspiration. There is no silver bullet to quote Condi Rice.

I just introduced him in to some affiliate programs. right now I am trying to sell some link space on his site so that we can get some money to spend on makreting. I will try and find some high PR sites like his. But his really is not a porn site. It is like a babe blog. It doesn't have any hardcore content just artisti photos of women. Alot of graphics artist use his site for stock photos of women.

try artsy and photo directories...you should be able to hand the competition their lunch by getting links from a bunch of these places that they can't...also, there are many good pockets of PR within the blog community...

Hey ATLein,
PR 6 on an adult site is not bad. Sex.com is only 5. So it definitely isn't a PR problem. It is a traffic targeting problem.
I can give you a list of a few good sites to get listed at. But I won't post them here, message me.

Why be obsessed with PR in any case? It's traffic (and ultimately profit, assuming you're coming from business perspective) that is the true measure of a site's success, not PR.

it gets
600,000 uniques a month and it needs to get market more
Where are the 600,000 coming from
I was under the impression that 600,000 uniques a month is pretty good
how visitors a month does a successful adult site usually have?

I am not sure. i am not really trying to get his site marketed better. i am just trying to make him some money on advertising. Most of the advertising world works with PR. I am trying to get some paying text links and some small banners.

With adult sites, you can get 600,000 uniques in a day. Depending on the type of site it is.
Are you trying to sell text links and banner spots? If so I know someone you can talk to.

Ah right... so, to clarify, are you looking to improve your PR so that you have something more tangible to sell? ie. you want to say to someone "would you like to advertise on a site that has a PR8?" because that gives you added credibility? Is that it?
If so, you need to be careful... selling links on the basis of PR is something you need to be very, very careful about. Google don't like it.

(I think you meant AdWords.)
Yes, but they don't sell those text links AND say "we have a PR10". Google do not say "don't sell links". They say "don't sell links based on the PR value of the linking page".

Yep, well you shouldn't... it could get you in hot water
As for AdWords/AdSense - people pay for AdWords. AdSense is a web publisher's way of delivery AdWords ads.
