Penalization is due to "Text-link selling" is not totally true...

There could be many reasons behind it.

Yeah there could be a lot of Reasons behind this ..but the one which seems to be totally true is the Case of Text-Links ... what do you think what is the reason behind this other than Text-Links-Selling...?

Assuming one sends in a reconsideration request and the PR is back to normal. Then what. Besides Adsense, he cannot have any other forms of advertising? What if he is banned from Adsense.

My advice to those who lost your PR. Work for your visitors and not for your PR.

I think too. Google is naming or emphasizing only selling links just to warning those who sell links by using PR.

Most people use words like, SPONSORS, PARTNERS, FEATURED, ADVERTISERS, ADS and other synonymous terms related to advertisers. Our suggestion is to use ‘different’ titles for these ads. Something like RELATED SITES, COOL SITES, RESOURCES, ALTERNATIVE LINKS and so on...
This is what Mattcutts explains on his blog...

Maybe G has an algorithm that is set to look for these "reserved" words (sponsors, parteners, etc)

Well, much has been said and done as of now about Google rating webpages. I would like to add, a quality blog will never loose PR (i.e. if you write good, google will be impressed and you will get the desired results.) If you try to buy/sell links or fool google with black hat SEO or something like that...then forget it. The chances are slim now as they have implemented something new!

I personally don't think that 'selling text links' is the only reason for penalization. Just to mention, how come google know whether the text link is paid or not. huge number of webmasters is still selling text links. and the PR mania is not that hot as it'd been sometimes back. Don't worry that much about the PR decline if you rock in SE ranking! lolz!

selling text links is the not only reason for penalization but on the google link schemes . This is on the use of excessive reciprocal links and link exchange and link to web spammer site.

If your site is not banned (still listed in the index) then a request for reconsideration will not help for a penalty or pagerank reduction. Think about how many reconsideration requests there would be!

That's because he's a part of B5Media network and all those people are hooked in together because of the SEO convenions. One of the founders of B5 called a Google friend on the phone and got it changed. For the rest of us, good luck ever getting Google to respond to you.

That is a reinclusion request - if you have actually been banned or SERIOUSLY penalized (like dropped by hundreds of places in the results).

The recent up date did not see this happening to people.

Al we saw was an widespread PR drop with an extremely weak correlation with sites that sell links (or have sitewide links).

It is extremely difficult to make any inferences about what specifically caused the PR drop.

I have my assumptions - but they are just assumptions - as are everyone else's.
