How do you get onto advertise on the Sponsored Links across the top of Google?

By using Google Adwords and placing the highest bid for that particular keyword https://adwords.google.com/select/

It's typically only done for competitive phrases. It's when you have an AdWords keyword that has both a high bid and a high click-through-rate...Google will often place those at the top above the listing. It's placed there at no extra cost, but does typically require a high CTR.

cos I have seen a site that would be lucky to get 5 cliks a week.

yes, but can't a campaign like that (high bid & click-through-rate)
on google put you into the 10's of thousands of dollars ea. month ?

seems like allot of green, especially if the site is somewhat new, and still [not] in the green, if you know what I mean

You can set how much you want to spend a month. If you get to your maximum amount you're ads will not show up any more.

AdWords is an exceptionally cheap investment tool to help you determine the quality and functionality of your business model.

If it seems to expensive then perhaps the business model has errors in it.

It is also much better to limit your spend via proper targeting vice setting a dollar limit.

They rotate the adwords ads up into that section, you must have a adwords account. we were running adwords and were surprised to see our ad at the top one day and a guy at Kandodle told me they rotate the ads from the right side to the top....

I only bid no more than $0.15 for ages and never had one on top, so I guess you must have a bid over x amounts to get there.

I basically pointed out most of the best ideas that are in all the other pay per click ebooks without throwing goobely gook in there and gave it away free.

there really was nothing like it on the web.

I always thought you needed to spend 10k a month minimum to get on top...
It used to be stated as such on Google, I guess not anymore.

I think your money is much better spent doing long term SEO than buying PPC. After you blow through a couple thousand on adwords you still have to keep paying...if put towards SEO, residual traffic could last years.

I think awall is right, use organic SEO as well as SEM, which includes overture, adwords etc.

But the most important thing is conversion. I am getting many clicks but no conversion, so I am thinking of building landing pages for these clicks.
what do you suggest Awall19
