Backlink increased but PR dropped

One of my site got 1000+ backlinks in google now, last month was 600+, but the page rank has dropped to 0. Google dance or penalization? Any idea of that?

Really it's a google dance. There are large number of site owner claiming that there site PR was dropped. IMO google is calculating the PR not only in quality backlinks but it has also a percentage on content. What would you think?

The Google has completed it's update, so one cannot definitely say it as a Google Dance. Wait for a few more day, and recheck the backlinks. If the traffic is not affected, you need not worry about the PR.

What about yours traffic, if its reduced then you have to work seriously, if not dont worry after few days it will be OK.

There is no doubt a Google Dance taking place. My site showed fluctuated then settled quite a bit. Keep in mind that people are right about the quality of backlinks as the driving factor. 1,000+ backlinks can be of less value than one quality backlink. Also, keep in mind that PR is not the end all and be all. In fact it is not even that huge of a deal in an of itself. The exception to that of course is those trying to sell links, where link revenue is oftentimes tied to a site's PR.

got no really nice idea about what happen to that. it happens also to other site and they say that its only a glitch which is often happening to PR. well, come to think of it, PR is not really that important. It's ok to not mind it at all, unless...

simply because google didn't focused anymore on backlinks as their basis in determining PR.. They also see other aspects in seo now

Do not expect too much if you have more backlinks. The more quality backlinks you have on your site the better PR you got. PR is not calculated with quantity of backlinks but quality of backlinks.

Google used some algorithms for Increasing PR but back link is important it google dance.

I've also noticed that. Yes, backlinks still plays the great factor but I think there are also some hidden factor that we didn't know yet.
