You can disable the robots from indexing you if you want, and then within a few weeks you should vanish off of the index; although it's a pain to get back on again ;P
robots.txt ; I think it's like this
Order Allow,Deny
Deny from Useragent "Googlebot"

But i'm not sure

The same thing happened with me. I was going to build up content first and then submit. I noticed I had gotten a lot of traffic so I used a SEO tool to see if I was indexed or linked to. I was indexed lol.
