I'm indexed in google, but I don't know how....

My new site has been indexed in Google without even trying. I didn't give my URL to anyone, and didn't submit the URL at all. Anybody know what might be going on, or had this happen to them? Also, I checked for back links, but none to be found. No one has linked to my site.

your site is crawled automatically by Google even if you didn't submit to anything and tell it to anyone. Its possible because your site has content which is worth crawling for by bots.

When you register a domain, or if your domain is refunded or expired sometimes they appear on those Domain list sites.

And google would crawl it maby find your link. Also if you a RSS feed. (if your using wordpress. Technorati is pretty good at finding it without you even knowing) Also Google doesn't show backlinks right away. But yahoo does.

and about backlinks... you have to gather some links to have backlinks... directory submissions, forum posting, blogs.. etc.etc.etc...

Google crawls all sites on the web... so even you didn't do a thing and your site has contents surely it will be crawled since fresh contents are SEs food....

OK, thanks for the info. I thought it was an issue for people to get indexed in Google. If that is the case, why do you find so much info about people giving advice on how to get indexed quickly through various methods. Why not just let it happen? People write about how they have trouble with it on tis forum too. The thing is, my page had next to nothing on it when it got indexed.

That's an achievement though.. I wonder what's the URL of your site? But I think you are not allowed to post your link here.. Anyway, how long does it take before your site get crawled and indexed by google? is it an hour? a day? or a week?

There are several ways they can find you. Example: I started another new forum a few days ago. It has its own domain but it resides in a folder which is off the root of the primary domain on my server. I think because of that, the bots will find it quickly.

Yeah I guess I need 50 posts before I can give any URL's. I guess it took about 2 weeks really, but I didn't try at all. I wasn't even looking to see and I came upon it in Google on accident. I was just looking at other sites like mine. It was actually ranking well for a few long tail search terms. The problem with this is, what if you don't want the world to see your site yet. People were coming to mine and I didn't even know it. What do you all think?

Do you know how to rename your index file? If you rename it and then replace it with a new "Under Construction" index file, that is what the public will see when they come. And you can still start up your site manually using the renamed file when you need to work on it.

I"m not that worried about it now, my site is ready to go, thanks for the tip though. I would say the quality of the content is good, but I wouldn't I have that much content in the first place at all. I guess you guys will see it(after 50 posts) it's a plr site where I'm selling individual packages for sale. I have a paragraph or to at the top, didn't even try for LSI or SEO stuff, and the rest of the content is just plr packs for sale. Quality yes, but really no content. If thats all you have to have to get indexed, whats the worry?

How long is the domain registered for?
.com domains tends to get spidered very quick indeed.

Definitely you have no backlinks because you did not submit it to directory or even trying to promote it not unless you have a good content that people might link bait to your site.

It is really true that your site can get indexed easily in Google without even trying because it was crawled by the Google. You have no backlinks because you are not promoting your site or not even submitting your site to any links.

No backlinks at all eh? I don't know what you checked with, but just be aware that Google link query command isn't (at all) reliable.
