Having the word "sex" on page...

...easy question, does having the word "sex" on your site cause it to rank lower/worse?

If content is related to sex then no problem. but you should avoid to write "sex" word in the content page if your site is related to other topics.

it all depends on the topic...the "sex" word is somewhat a powerful word to have on a page LOL ... if it is found on a page where it relates actually to a gender, for example, a sample of a resume on a page or if literally means sex on an adult content page, no one can really tell.

I really don't have the idea if the rank will get worse or better if "sex" is found on a page.

If the word sex is related to your content then it will not rank you lower but if it is not related as what Michael said, then probably it will rank your site lower.

Come to think of this, your site is about shopping and you put on the word sex on it.. Do you really think searchers will go to your site if they see irrelevant result? Well, i think not.. But if they happen to stumble upon it and then just leave your site without even further review, do you still consider that one as a quality traffic? still not right? Remember that those word should be match on your content just like what kber said..

Yeah your content should be much related to the word. The word "sex" on site should not cause it to rank lower!

I think not, not if your site is a niche one... Example if it's an adult surely it will have an impact..or not if it's an medicine site...

Depends on the contents of your site....not just a word...

i think if the site was related to this, and it's the theme of the site, there's no reason not ranked..

I have been never thinking of it even my primary site contains a lot of the word "sex"... There is no problem about any word. You can use phentermine, viagra, etc. Just use them correctly.

I think it doesn't matter if you're site is sex related or have some content related to it.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...ww.v7n.com+sex - v7n network got over 2000 pages with the word sex. You just added extra page

Bad words can't hurt rankings as long if website provide regular content.

Moreover, Google itself got over 19 000 pages with the word sex: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...google.com+sex

Won't that prompt a google warning?

I thought having anything that could potentially be related to adult content on your site could prompt a warning from Google?
