Hi John:

Well..... yes I do give S & R lots of credit for thinking about things a lot, I just wish they could boil it all down to fifteen or twenty paragraphs per post.

Indeed it was. At some point the thread turned into personal accusations and anger Don't know how people manage to get so excited over this topic.

I do think they go overboard sometimes. Like, when they went on that campaign to coin the term "link reputation".

I like S&R. But, like Mel, I wish she would write shorter posts. Her posts are often too long to bother reading in detail, and it's a shame because she includes some very useful information in them.

I like S&R, too. They are very detailed in their posts. But sometimes too detailed to bother with.

Actually, it's not as simple as that - I used to think that number of links with high link-weight was incredibly important - but now I'm finding that other factors are more powerful. Either way, a good policy, but don;t lump too much into it. As for my comment - I'll try to post a case study later today.

As to the original post - never actually knew that - a search of "chroniclesofempire" brings my personal writing domain straight up, so it obviously counts. I would certainly agree with John Scott that backlinks aer far more important.
