Is it worth it?

Hi, I've been toying with the idea of using Adwords for my website(s) and was wondering what experience others have had with this? Is the program worth the cost, and what's the average turnover for you? I have several freebie sites and was wondering if it would be worthwhile paying for traffic for these...any and all advice would be very much appreciated!

Smile Depends

That honestly depends on the market you are in, the keywords you are bidding on, the quality of your site, etc. There is no yes or no answer for this. I would recommend starting some small test campaigns, and seeing how they do. Give them very limited budgets, see what your conversion rate is over a month, revise your ads, and just track. If you are making money on your sales, it can be a good way to get an immediate boost in traffic and sales. On the other hand if it costs you $10 to sell a $4 item, it doesn't really make sense to do so.

I would start off with MSN before I did google, from other webmasters, and looking at my own sales they convert at a higher rate, and it is great to be able to work in Excel them import campaigns when reworked, a true time saver.

In the beginning you can try with small amoutn like $200. See if you got return on your investment.
I personally don't recommend to invest in AdWords if you just want to get more visitors or promote brand. AdWords is good for websites which sell stuff.

I wouldn't use Google AdWords if you're just looking for traffic

Good idea...I didn't think of MSN. I'll look into it.

There are other ways than adwords if you just want traffic, e.g. you can do social media marketing that can get loads of traffic.
