Backlinks updating?! - Page 2

I think a lot of the backlinks were coming from WF.. so when the jump.php was introduced I think Google finally caught up with that. Ironically it still shows a few links from there. Nothing from IMR yet.

Yea, I lost a few hundred backlinks and went back down to a PR5.

Googkle is filtering multiple links from the same domain. IMR had 2,200+ IBL's - last month. We then added a thousands of links.

But Google filtered most of them, and we dropped down to 1,000+ backlinks.

A lot of PR7's went to PR6; a lot of PR6's went to PR5.

I don't understand Google at all, they only show one back link for the ministry while it has loads of them on many differend sites. Google bot is visiting every day but as I mentioned before, they are very s l o w indexing and for some reason it takes months for the directory to list this site. I submitted it a few months ago, and did a few times more since then but it's still not listed in the directory yet.

I wonder how they got to give a 3/10 ranking for this site, while they didn't even bother to list it.

Well you're not listed in DMOZ so you won't get listed in Google's directory either.

Your site is in the Google index though, just not in the directory.

You have 1 inbound link, and according to AllTheWeb 3 more, that's probably where the PR is coming from. Google probably found all the inbound links but only lists sites with PR4 or higher.

I notice...
1.- Google doesn't show all backlinks for a lot of sites
2.- New sites don't have page rank calculated in this time
3.- New subpages in some sites haven't page rank calculated
4.- And like john says "google is filtering multiple links from the same domain"

is there a new criterion?

I also see most of the things that you just mentioned, except one thing, about your point 4. I have 100 links from other webpages, but none of these pages really have a good PR, so it doesn't justify giving me a PR 6. But, I did post a lot at a popular forum, and have my link in the sig there, and I think that their links is the only reason for my PR 6. If google would discount these links, it would mean that I would only have a few links from them, and I still don't think that I would have a PR 6 then.
But, again, that is just my opinion on this issue. It might very well be that google is giving links on the same IP less value, I just didn't experience it this time.
