you don't really need to do so.
Best create a sitemap (XML), get yourself a webmaster account on Google and submit it there.

Yea, really no necessary to submit, just launch your site and add quality content, google will follow it and index.

Agreed; your best way is going to ensure you have quality links pointing to your site. If the only way Google or the other engines are able to locate your site is through the above listings. Then you are going to be in some trouble.

you could go to www.google.com/addurl but it takes a long time that way. I just added a google sitemap and then added to my websites using googles webmaster program. Also, if you have quality content then it should be crawled pretty fast.

Yep, sitemap is the answer...no need to submit your site in search engine..

obviously, the best way that you said isn't enough...All you have to do is just to launch your site and make a worthy crawlable quality content...that's it...

One of the many ways is you may also link to quality related sites that is already been crawled by google so your site has a better chance to be listed in google.
