sitelinks and search queries

Today I finally spotted sitelinks for my primary website. However, after searching my domain name in G, nothing such as sitelinks is shown. Does it require any time in order to be shown or what? I'd welcome some real experiences from those who have experienced this already.

Sitelinks created automatically by an algorithm. so i believe it also depend on the search query...

Exactly what bogs said. Matt Cutts explained in his blog that for a search query like IBM, surfers will probably want to see more than just a link or two - they'd want several inroads into the site - so Google made that happen.
I haven't looked into it more than that.

it is definitely a good sign to see sitelinks in google webmaster account, that shows that the site is getting some google love. Well, much better if the sitelinks are visible in the SERPs, unfortunately it is not something we can force it to happen, like Matt says, it is automated... 'now you see it, now you don't'.
