Is This Normal?
My site has recently experienced a boost in Googlebot & Yahoo robot crawling, as well as indexing. I am new at SEO so I may be blabbing on, but is this normal? My site suddenly gets lots of pages indexed overnight and this happened a few times. True, jumping from 66 to 93 pages overnight isn't much, but percentagewise it is. Googlebot visits my site about every 7-10 minutes and the Yahoo robot does it too, although Yahoo does it less frequently, about once every 30 - 50 minutes. I have never experienced this before and I'm a bit confused because so many people on this forum say that robots visit their pages rarely and I only get about 40 page visits a day. I add content daily at a human pace (about 2-3 content-rich pages daily and a few product pages with kw's in them daily). It seems out of place to me.
I am just worried that somehow one day Google is going to penalize me for something that I haven't done intentionally. Should I be worried or is the recent googlebot and indexing overactivity normal? Thanks.
