The blackhat guys keep using it even after it's gone - they don't know any better (PR is a prime example)
The engines are in the business of making money by getting people to use their engine - they keep people coming back by getting them to where they want to go) So if there is an advantage and it will give me a little boost I will use it, until they kill it, BUT I don't depend on it, I know it's short lived. I also have the good sence to remove it after its advantage is gone just in case the programmers went a little to far or couldn't figure out how to compensate correctly so it gets a the "penalty" meaning it is a flaw fixed that was not really fixed, so it works the other way.
Solid HONEST seo is always the platform to use - honestly tell the engine what is on the page, and have it there. If people want it and it is of value - it will place high.
An example: "closet manufacturer" in Google, for finedesigncloset.com - (a temp few pages - still underdevelopement) The site does not deserve to be number one they serve central Florida - but google put it on the first page just in case people forgot to type in a location. It does not deserve to be number one!
But "closet manufacturer florida" for finedesigncloset.com is number one. It is closer to being what people want. The engines are working hard to give searchers what they want not what SEO's want.
So my technique is to just out-work the other guys. If they depend on techniques to trick or beat the engines and it is an honest product or service I'll beat them by being honest and working harder then they do and applying solid online marketing techniques. That's the secret - hard work!

Ohhh never thought that it was a possibility. I might take a look at that technique and see if it would really work. Thanks for the tip
