Check the PR at the data centers at digpagerank.com you might notice something.

One site of mine is going to PR 5 from 4

Yes, I dropped from PR3 to PR0, despite lnew content and newly indexed pages. Oh, the frustration. :S

Yes indeed. The pagerank update is taking place right now.
I can alredy see slightly changes to some pages inside my websites, some show now PR N/A etc.

I was just wondering, how up-to-date is such a PR update? I mean, when your PR changes, is because of what your site is as of right now (content, backlinks, etc.) or is the PR based on what your site was months back?

For example, what if you open up your site in February and you start building on it so that by August, you have a large content-rich site with lots of backlinks? And let's say a PR update happens at the end of August? Is the PR update based on your site stats as of right now or will you have a low PR regardless because your site was empty in February and had no links? I'm just trying to understand where my site stands as PR seems to be changing in the opposite direction of where it should go.

It is usually from a few weeks back, sometimes a bit more.

Thanks Cricket, it's the EXACT question I had. To make it short, Matt says that he doesn't know and that worrying about what date a PR is based on is too obsessive. Alrighty, that makes me feel better. I'll continue building my content. It seems like I may have started building a few weeks too late to get on the good side on this current PR update. Oh well, better luck next time. Hopefully, the next PR update won't be belated.
