The word might get indexed was referring to the word short period, it does not denote the possibility of getting indexed or not but the time it will span before it will be indexed.

Joining forums and putting your signature can help indexing your site.

You can use any google service like adsense or adword. Just use it for sometime and you would be instantly indexed and you may discontinue it later.
