What are everybodies thoughts on the quickest way to get a website indexed in Google?

Publish good content, get linked by others, submit your URL to google, create a XML sitemap and create and manage a webmaster central account.
I think that should make it. After that, just wait.

Well Jonathan,

If I were you I'd optimize my own site so it wasn't invisible on the web except for 1 keyword that is a "cat **** Pie" word - "seoboost" or "seo Boost".

and I'd spell "optimisation" so Google doesn't put up a Did you mean: seo optimization

Then I'd fix my site so it actually had a chance of showing up in the engines.... That's the quickest way I know of.

Place your link at a page which is already indexed or having a link on a popular site like forums will be the easiest way for fast indexing.

Create some social bookmarks.

Create some links in highly popular forums, websites or blogs.

Directories are not fast in indexing in my personal experience.
