Well, I hope so...
I have a strange feeling that PR won't update on April...
I predict that it will be delayed again...

Drop in Google PageRank !
Just few days back, early morning I have been casually checking the stats of my sites and upon opening one of my sites through a search phrase as to see whether Search Phrase has been justifiably providing necessary information I was stunned to see the decreased green-bar above. Google PageRank for my site kashmironline.net had been reduced to just 3. It was really panicky for me and i was left scanning my recent changes to the site.
Upon further digging i was surprised to see many of the pages and subdomains on site that had low PR now having better greens. Also i noticed many of the sites that previously had low PR were ranked better.
Since then i had been trying many a things and visited my favourite communities and forums but to no avail. Just today while logging out of statcounter I thought of visiting here. I want my Net-brethren to help me if there is any way that helps me to know what wrong could be with anything on the site which causes abrupt fall in PR.
Does any of the webmasters here experience the fall in PR?
And if "yes" please share your information !

If you sell links you will get your PR reduced at best, your site banned at worst in Google.
If you have reciprocal links or paid incoming links, they are getting discounted by Google, with a corresponding drop in PR.

Well this seems to be the case; i recently signed another ad selling program other than Google Adsense. In that it is not fair and shows how indiscriminate the Google Policies can be. Does that mean i must remove these links from my site.
Hey Dapper do i have to remove ads from sub-domains of my site also?

The links have to be the kind that do not pass PR (by not being crawled by robots) - so they have to be opened through either:
1) html links with rel="nofollow" in the <a href ..> tag
2) javascript pop-up windows (like Google Adsense)
3) a redirector page wich uses a robots meta tag with "noindex, nofollow" or is disallowed in robots.txt, and uses meta refresh to the external link
Google Adsense are javascript, do not pass PR, they don't get crawled by robots.

hey sorry i culdn't get it. Perhaps this is due to colds.."achooo!"
Sorry again.. Can you be specific with example. I have removed ads from main domain but subdomain still contains ads. if you visit this link:wallpapers.kashmironline.net and see ozone ad code, you can suggest if it uses the thing.
btw i'm not selling links here, you'd on the contrary get the feast for ur eyes, by the glimpses of "Heaven on Earth"

oyoy.eu/page/links/?url=http%...ronline.net%2f
Well those 2 ozonemedia ads are not OK. They do not use rel="nofollow" in the link, so they are considered paid links.
But in addition to that it's also highly possible whatever incoming links your page originally had have lost their PR as well due to a number of reasons, so less or none comes to your page.
Most pages on the web have seen a drop in PR recently. It's normal, as Google is cleaning up previously artificially inflated PR values.

Everybody's PR has done down a notch or so. It's not that you sell links. It's likely that those who link to you have also lost a bit of their own PR.
Don't worry about it, it's not important. It really isn't.

I'm not seeing any pr changes but there is a lot of chatter about pr drops. Google most likely has blocked the ability of some webpages to flow pagerank on sites that it has identified as selling links.

according to google:
Quote:
Not all paid links violate our guidelines. Buying and selling links is a normal part of the economy of the web when done for advertising purposes, and not for manipulation of search results. Links purchased for advertising should be designated as such. This can be done in several ways, such as:
* Adding a rel="nofollow" attribute to the <a> tag
* Redirecting the links to an intermediate page that is blocked from search engines with a robots.txt file
