Google's Equation
If you guys were to guess what Google's SEO equation was ---- how would you rank each percentage wise?
Im new to SEO... but it appears to me that:
50% Content
30% Links
20% Other (domain name, domain age, keyword placement, title tag, etc.)
What do you guys think???

I would say
25% domain hosting, domain url ( whether .co.uk, .de)
25% content ( If you have good content you will automatically get links
25% back links ( off-page optimization)
25% ( on page optimization)
HOWZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT

To me, both content and inbound links are equally important.

Only google can answer that. It's really hard to guess the equation becuase google is always updating their algorithm that can also affect the equation.

I agree with xy7durga...It appears as though Google checks keyword relevancy first and does an initial rank, then rearranges pased on PR (links).

For competitive terms:
90% domain trust based on linkage.

One month ago I would of disagreed with this, but trust rankings of the sites where you have links seems to play a majority of that involved in a site's search rankings for a particular term. I've seen many sites loose credibility recently.

Also, IMHO, a big part of it all is coding your pages to be VALID html and/or VALID xhtml according to the current W3C standards. Even though this isn't an "official" guideline, I really think it makes a big difference as, for one thing, it increases page trust. PHP pages? No way! GO BACK TO HTML OR XHTML because there are so many spam servers out there dumping duplicate content PHP all over the web and if your site is PHP, often the big search engines cannot tell the difference between spam and the original pages. This is, of course, just my humble opinion.

SEOMOZ has a poll where SEO people rank what they think helps and hurts - you might get a good answer there

Agree 100%. Google should publish their algorithm and make our jobs easier! (Wishful thinking)
