Google Indexing Speed
About how long should I expect it to take for google to index my new directory? I did submit it manually to google and have started working on building backlinks. However, when I search for my domain name only some links to my page appear, not the actual site itself.
Thanks!

It seems google indexing speed related to the webhost too.

Frequent updates and Ping would help Google to track and Index your website. Another option is Pinging as soon as u make some updates / Changes in ur site.

Depends on how you work hard on it.. there are some who gets indexed in a short period of time.. If you wanna get indexed faster on SE's, try to get links on related sites.

Sites that are already indexed are crawled faster than those not yet indexed... Because they visit the sites already indexed often...
SEs are looking after the links.... links, links...

The more inbound links and the quicker the crawl time that they have will help improve your index and crawl speed... Although it is always better to get indexed before submitting site to google...

It depends what type of a website you have and how well it promoted. Google can index in less than a minute if you have well promoted blog or news site.

I created a new blog, submitted it to Google and after a few days it was still not indexed. Then I added a link to the blog from my main website that is visited daily by Google and the blog was in Google the next day. To me the message was to get a link from something that is indexed frequently.

it all depends on the status of the site (of course you mean new sites, right? what I mean is the performance applied on it). probably, a nice promotion and gathering of links, quality and relevant links to be precise is what you will be needing. of course, it all depends on the mood of Google with regards to indexing...just focus on what I suggested...

It should index it in a few hours, but not all pages, make a sitemap and submit to webmaster tools.

Continue working on your site by providing good contents and perform all activities like link building or social bookmarking, etc ... you'll see it'll indexed fast. No particular or definite time but make sure you check it from time to time.

I guess it applies only to blogs or sites that are already indexed by Google. But as for a new and fresh site... It would take a little time...
