Doing well with Yahoo and not Google..

Hello everyone, I have a 7 month old Hot Rods classifieds site that's a PR3 in Google.

In Yahoo search for the keywords ( hot rods for sale ) and ( muscle cars for sale ) and ( street rods for sale ), my site places always on the first page at about 13-14th place... BUT in Google my site dose not even place in the top 1000 for the same keywords. Why is that??

My url is http://www.sellmyride.com

Thanks
tBone

well i poked around on your site and i found that the keywords you listed are only found once on your index page. you need a higher keyword density. also, a pr3 isn't so hot. it means that not many sites link to your site, so go out and find directories to submit your site to and sites to exchange links with.

Your textual content isn't great, most of it is in the paragraph "Search hundreds of used cars for sale from..." and it reads like a list of your KWs.

I'd add pages on the various car types, with links to specific enthusiast sites, and link those pages from an expanded introductory paragraph using relevant link text.

As Al2six mentioned, work on your linking, and maybe drop those loan/insurance affiliate links temporarily......

Most, if not all of your increases in Google SERPs will come from external, off-site links.

You must concentrate on a something called 'keyword anchors'. Keyword anchors are just a complicated way of saying the phrase in which you click on in order to go to that specific page. Here's an example.

<a href="http://www.edsolutions.ca/">Toronto Computer Outsourcing</a>

The words "Toronto computer outsourcing" forms my keyword anchor.

Lets not dismiss the power of other criteria such as theming, keyword density, and PR; however keyword anchors are your primary road to gold.
